The three-layered floor was the perfect solution for their home

They are meticulous about details, almost to the point of perfectionism. Their choice of flooring for their new home was no exception. However, it wasn’t until after their first visit to Kullaberg Flooring that they made their decision. There, they found exactly what they were looking for—both in terms of product, experience, and expertise.

When we meet in Åhus, Emma and Marc have been living in their newly built house for just over a year. She works in a clothing store, while he is involved in construction and real estate. Both enjoy spending time at home with their children and staying active. They also share a significant interest that takes up much of their time.

– We dedicate a lot of time to the house and interior details.

The three-layered floor was the optimal solution for the house

They are meticulous about details, almost to the point of being excessively precise. The choice of flooring in their new house was no exception. But it wasn’t until after the first visit to Kullaberg Flooring that they made up their minds. They had exactly what they were looking for, both in terms of products, experiences, and expertise.

When we meet in Åhus, Emma and Marc have been living in their newly built house for just over a year. She works in a clothing store, he is in the construction and real estate industry. Both enjoy being at home, spending time with the children, and exercising. In addition, their significant, shared interest takes up a lot of their time.

We spend a lot of time on the house and interior details.

It’s all in the details.

The scent of “newness” still lingers in their home, and the feeling is palpable—nothing here is by chance. It’s all about the details; the couple has put a lot of effort into them because they play a crucial role in the overall design.

– Not everyone may notice the details, but we focused a lot on them during the early stages of planning. That’s where they truly mattered. Whether it’s the angles, how the walls meet the glass, or the absence of thresholds throughout the house, every detail was carefully considered. The floors were especially important to us.

It´s about the details

The scent of “new” still lingers in their house. The feeling is noticeable; nothing is here by chance. Much is about the details; the couple has really worked on them because they mean a lot to the overall picture.

Not everyone may even notice the details. But we put a lot of work into the early stages of house planning where the details were crucial. It could be about angles, where walls meet glass, or the absence of thresholds in the house. The floors were also extremely important to us.

Authentic, stylish, and high-quality

When it came to choosing the floor, Marc and Emma had high expectations. To meet their standards, the floors had to be authentic, stylish, and exude quality—compromise was not an option. Additionally, the floors needed to complement both houses on their property, one larger and one smaller.

– It was clear to us that we wanted the same floor in both houses. It creates a common thread that runs through both properties. The only exception is the wet areas, where we chose a different solution.

Three layers instead of solid wood

Kullaberg Flooring offers both solid wood floors and three-layer cross-glued plank floors. The advice they received was to choose a three-layered floor with the same feel as a solid wood floor. The reason for this recommendation was the movement and forces that a solid wood floor can experience, especially when it comes to wide planks.

Real, stylish and quality

When it came to the floor, Marc and Emma had high standards. To meet their expectations, the floors had to be genuine, stylish, and exude quality. Compromising on any of these aspects was not in their world. In addition, the floors had to suit both houses they have on the property, one larger and one smaller.

That we would have the same floor in both houses was obvious to us. It contributes to the common thread that runs through both properties. The wet areas are the only surfaces that have a different solution.

Three layers instead of solid

Kullaberg Flooring works with both solid wood floors and three-layer glued plank floors. The advice they received from Kullaberg Flooring was to choose a three-layered floor but with the same feel as a solid wood floor. The reason for this is the forces and movements that a solid wood floor can create, especially with the wide planks the couple wanted.

They understood us

Marc recalls their first interaction with Kullaberg Flooring.

– We didn’t know them before, but we reached out to Fredrik, and we connected right away. He understood us, and we understood him. We had a lot of questions, and he answered every one of them. His knowledge of floors went even deeper than ours. After a few meetings with Fredrik, we were certain—there was no other option.

Not a creak

Marc installed the floor himself, and the couple is happy with the result, even though Marc is a bit self-critical in hindsight.

– Maybe I’d choose a different laying technique if I were to do it again, but those are details that only I might notice. Gluing the floor directly to the concrete turned out great; not a single creak can be heard. When friends and family visit, we often hear compliments about how beautiful, warm, and quiet the floor is.

They understand us

Marc remembers the first contact with Kullaberg Flooring.

We didn’t know them before but got in touch with Fredrik, and we connected immediately. He understood us, and we understood him. We had many questions, and he could answer everything. He met our knowledge by knowing even more about floors. After a few meetings with Fredrik, we decided; there was no alternative.

Not a creak

Marc laid the floor himself, and the couple is satisfied with the result even if Marc is a bit self-critical in hindsight.

Maybe I would have chosen a different laying technique if I were to do it again, but those are details that maybe only I see. Choosing to glue the floor directly to the concrete turned out really well; not a creak is heard. And when friends and acquaintances visit, we often get comments about ‘the beautiful, warm, and quiet floor.
